Grant Program

C3 funds research to enable the development of treatments – and ultimately, a cure – for calpainopathy. Projects span a range of traditional and novel therapeutic strategies, create tools for the research community, support world-renowned scientists and foster early career investigators, and focus on laying the groundwork for the inclusion of calpainopathy patients in clinical trials.

C3 has committed over $3 million to projects focused on finding a treatment, and ultimately a cure, for calpainopathy

Travel Grants

Coalition to Cure Calpain 3 awards Travel Grants to foster early career investigators who are currently conducting research in the areas of calpainopathies (LGMD2A/R1 and LGMDD4).

The grants support travel expenses to attend relevant conferences and meetings to present the investigator’s work.

Preference will be given to early-stage investigators, defined as an investigator who has completed their terminal degree within the past 10 years. Postdoctoral researchers and graduate students are encouraged to apply.

Open to investigators from laboratories not currently funded under the C3 Research Grants program and is not limited to US-based institutions.
