Coalition to Cure Calpain 3 (C3) has made tremendous progress in driving research towards a cure for limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2A (LGMD2A/R1) and raising global disease awareness. Over the last 10 weeks of highlights, you have read all the WAYS WE ARE MAKING A REAL DIFFERENCE. Your support has helped make that happen, but there is more to do.

On this “Giving Tuesday,” we want to showcase how your continued support can help our exciting future efforts to drive the development of a crucial treatment for LGMD2A/R1. C3 is poised to make a difference in the next ten years – and beyond.

C3’s near-term strategic priorities will bring us to a new era of possibilities and influence in LGMD2A/R1 research. The future is bright with our focus to reach these important, achievable milestones in the coming years.

  • To have a least one gene therapy in human clinical trials
  • To attract multiple biopharmaceutical company partners with LGMD2A/R1 treatments in their development pipelines
  • To offer a robust patient registry as a go-to, foundational resource for all LGMD2A/R1 research, helping to build a longitudinal view of the natural history of the disease and to link patients to future clinical trials

C3 was founded by people with LGMD2A/R1 for people with LGMD2A/R1. Nobody understands the urgent need for a cure more than we do. As you have seen over the last 10 weeks of highlights, we have made progress and have a path and plan to make a difference in research ahead. Together, we can make sure that the next decade will bring us closer to a cure. The best is yet to come.

Please give to help us reach our goals. C3 has a pinpoint focus: to drive research for an LGMD2A/R1 cure. Every dollar counts to help grow support and research for this overlooked sub-type of muscular dystrophy.
Donate now, on “Giving Tuesday,” so that we can continue our strong momentum. Through your generous financial support we can do even more in the next 10 years to change the lives of patients in need.
